The Past
A journey through my experiences, learnings, and growth
Early Life in Prague
Born in 2004 in Prague, Czech Republic, I was blessed with a childhood filled with creativity, exploration, and a passion for self-discovery. I fell in love with juggling at a young age, developed a joy for learning and games, and grew within a deeply supportive family environment.
School Years & Identity
Elementary school came easy. Without ever needing to study intensely, I found no difficulty in school subjects. At 13, I began playing table tennis. At 14, I picked up classical guitar. My time was mostly spent socializing, sipping tea in lounges, and having deep conversations—feeling both like an outsider and yet deeply accepted by my peers.
At 15, the question of which high school to attend became a dominant topic. Teachers, classmates, and family all emphasized how important this decision was for my future. But I felt lost. I didn't believe my job needed to define my life. I imagined myself joyfully working as a barista, content with a life centered on purpose and harmony, not career success.
Film School at Panská
I decided to go to Panská, a state school in the center of Prague. I bought a camera, and managed to get through the talent exams with my first ever photos, and my grades supported my acceptance into the school.
I went for a film school that was also quite technical, with physics, math and chemistry. I went there with the perception it will be fun.
Tea Lounges, Hookah, and Awakening
A pivotal moment came when I walked into a tea lounge that became the center of my second life. I built deep relationships with the owner and staff, forming bonds with people much older and wiser than me. The lounge became a sanctuary for peace and spiritual learning.
Around the same time, I found a deep love for hookah—the ritual of sitting in timeless connection with others fascinated me.
School faded into the background. The tea lounge became my real classroom, where I learned intangible, soulful lessons. I formed a lifelong bond with the owner, who introduced me to deeper knowledge systems—beginning with blockchain and Web3.
Discovering Web3
Instead of homework, I was learning about the flaws of the monetary system, the power of blockchain, and the principles behind decentralized tech. Web3 felt like a spiritual movement: a peer-to-peer, open, and transparent world without central control.
Then came 2020. Covid hit. School collapsed into meaningless online sessions. I was free.
My mother helped me make my first investment into ETH. With support, mentorship, and good timing, I dove deep into crypto and Web3. My portfolio grew beyond what I imagined possible at my age, and my calling as a Web3 builder became clear.
My Journey
Dropping Out to Learn
Prague, Czech Republic
Inspired by my mentor, I dropped out of high school 1.5 years before graduation. I presented my vision to my family in a slideshow called "My Future in My Eyes." They didn't love it—but they supported me.
Fall From Grace
Crypto Winter
The bull market ended. I found myself $20,000 in debt on a DeFi platform. I was lost and dependent. I had to find my next move.
From Curiosity to Capability
Freelancing & Growth
Freelancing gave me my first taste of online income. Each milestone paid job grew my skills, but I still lacked the experience to land Web3 roles.
allstake.io – First Web3 Venture
Web3 Platform
Through Twitter connections, I launched allstake.io, a Web3 platform offering NFT launches, raffles, auctions, and marketplaces. I was the sole developer behind the platform, and my skills skyrocketed.
Magees – Herbal Energy
Herbal Stimulants
My passion for herbs, tea, and conscious consumption led me and my best friend to launch Magees, a line of herbal stimulants. The digital side lacked traction, but in person, the response was beautiful.
Alchemy – The True Path
Spiritual Journey
After reading, "What happens in the alchemical flask also happens within the alchemist," I was hooked. I joined an alchemy school in Slovakia with my best friend and began exploring herbs as tools of ego dissolution and truth-seeking.
Minefield Navigator – First Stable Job
SaaS Platform
Through my portfolio, I connected with Steve Strebl, founder of Minefield Navigator, a SaaS platform helping e-commerce sellers expand into Europe with peace of mind. I joined as the first developer.
February – Alchemix is Born
Alchemical E-commerce
With years of study and spiritual growth behind us, my best friend and I launched Alchemix—an alchemical e-commerce store. Our mission: to offer healing tinctures that nourish not just the body, but the mind and soul.
June – Building for Ronkeverse
Ronin Blockchain
Fueled by love for the Ronin blockchain and its blue monkey mascot, Ronke the Monke, I reached out to the project's founder. I built an NFT flip casino game for them, improved the leaderboard, and migrated their backend under my infrastructure.
July – ETHGlobal Cannes
Best Consumer App on Ronin bounty winner
One week before the event, I discovered ETHGlobal Cannes. Ronin was offering bounties. I booked a ticket to France, solo-hacked my project, and won first place. My project, Helpify, attracted genuine interest.
July – Polkadot / Web0 Berlin
Three Prizes Won
Two weeks later, Owen Barnes, whom I met at ETHGlobal, invited me to a Polkadot hackathon in Berlin. Together, we built Monsters Ink! and won three prizes: Main Track, Ink Alliance Bounty, and UX Bounty.
The Present – A New Chapter Begins
Hackathons made me fall back in love with creativity. At ETHGlobal, I introduced myself using my real name, Kilian, leaving behind my Web3 pseudonym Brian Pistar.
I now want to bring more soul, truth, and personality into my creations.
